DESCRIPTION OF THE PERFORMANCE

In “PIPE UP” two inventive dancers use parkour, dance and a whole bunch of pipes when they visit different playgrounds. What can all these pipes be used for? Skip with them? Roll on them? Sing into them? And if we put all the pipes together, can they become something completely different? Maybe something that’s starting to… move?

REVIEWS

“This was a magical and exciting experience, filled with laughter and wonder. Children truly appreciated the opportunity to be part of the experience.”

(Kindergarten, Gjerdrum)

“We brought our 2-year-olds, and they absolutely loved the performance. We could easily have included the youngest children too - the sounds and colors would have captivated them just as much.”

(Kindergarten, Vestby)

“The children were fully engaged throughout the performance. It was a wonderful bonus that they got to meet the “animal”, help decorate it, and even sit on it afterwards. Several of them continued playing similar imaginative games for days.”

(Kindergarten, Vestby)

INFORMATION ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Panta Rei Danseteater / PRD - a Norwegian contemporary dance theatre company based in Oslo, Norway. The company was established in 2000. Since then, the company has produced sixteen productions and managed a number of large-scale dance projects. Alongside their artistic and outreach work, the company runs a development programme for young professional dance talents. The company is known for its fast-paced colourful dance theatre performances that are accessible to a wide range of audiences in a variety of theatrical and non-theatrical spaces.

Panta Rei… everything flows, everything is in movement. The Greek philosopher Heraclitus argued that “no man ever steps in the same river twice”, as the river is in constant movement, constant transformation. Panta Rei Dance Theatre’s vision is founded on the idea that human beings and the society in which we live, are constantly changing and developing, and have a sincere wish to move and change people through dance. They believe in the transformational power of dance, they believe that meetings through dance make us more complete and reflective human beings, both emotionally, aesthetically and socially. Their vision: “Get ready to be moved!” underpins their every way of working. PRD has one of the most diverse audiences in Norway, and in 2017 the company was nominated for Norwegian Audience Development Prize. The company tours nationally and internationally, building long-term relationships with partners, performing and leading workshops.
